How to Prep Your Artwork for Better Screen Print Results
Share
Use Vector Files or High‑Res Rasters
Provide logos in vector format (AI, EPS, PDF) for sharp, scalable results. High-res rasters (≥300 DPI at actual print size) work too—but low-res files can blur or pixelate, resulting in costly re-runs.
Simplify Colors with Spot Palettes
Screen printing is cost-effective with fewer screens. Limit your design to 4–6 solid colors to maintain quality and reduce setup costs. Convert fonts to outlines and flatten layers to avoid hidden elements.
Allow for Bleed, Trapping & Registration
Add 0.125″ bleed around edges and leave ¼″ between design elements. Adjust color overlaps slightly (trapping) to prevent white gaps in multi-layer colors. This ensures crisp, aligned prints—and smoother production runs.
